Click on picture for video Rayce and I enjoyed the final Giant's game of the season on Sunday. Great weather and a good time with my son. The game was a classic battle. Had the lead, lost the lead, gave up a Grand Slam, and ended with bottom of the ninth inning heroics. Click on the picture to see a video recap and enjoy the season ending game to tide you over until next year. Bruce Bochy brought in Barry Zito in the 8th with two outs to face one batter (Mark Kotsay in probably his final at bat as a major league player). Zito struck out Kotsay for his final appearance as a Giant. He then walked off to a very heartfelt standing ovation. Click on the picture to see the video. Click picture to see video Rayce and I wanted to see the Red Sox since they don't visit too often. With school having started, we had to pick a game on a day with not too much homework for the kid. We went to the only win they had in the series. I had never personally witnessed a walk off walk (a hit, a walk, a hit batter and a walk for the win). Click on the picture to see how it ended. It was a shame the Matt Cain performance was wasted. He was pitching like the old Matt Cain. If the team could just score with runners on base he would have won. Two of the runs the Brewers scored came on errors. The G-men are 2 for 22 in the last two games. Lets hope they get on track on Wednesday!
Here are some pictures I took. I am making two additional games available for sale this month. One is a Double Header with the Reds on Tuesday July 23 at 4:05 PM. The first game is a make up for the rain out in Cincinnati and the second game that day is the scheduled game. More games for your dollar. The other game now available is a Sunday Diamondbacks game on July 21st at 1:05 PM. This game includes Sandoval t-shirt give away for the first 7500 kids under 14. You can check all the available July games here. Yesterday was a tough game to watch (my son and I attended). Today was a much better game to attend (my wife and me). It did have some weird moments. Giants overcome lineup blunder to topple Dodgers (Clink link for full story) San Francisco was caught batting out of order in the first inning, taking away Buster Posey's RBI double. Bochy submitted a lineup with Posey batting fourth, but the reigning NL MVP and batting champion hit third. Bochy called the mistake a "perfect storm" of events. As the defending World Series champion manager, Bochy had been finishing rosters all day for the NL All-Star team announcement. It also was only the second day the Giants used a digital lineup in the clubhouse, which showed Posey batting third, where the All-Star catcher had batted in 15 straight games until Friday. My son and I had planned to go to the July 7th Giants game against the dreaded Dodgers. Our plans changed. You can have the pair of tickets for my cost..$184 for the pair. They are selling for $150 each on the Giants website. These are not listed on my website (www.mysfgseats.com) since we had planned to attend. I might have to charge more if one of my Dodger friends wants them. It is okay Dodgers fans, our fans won't gloat too much when our team wins. Click to see the video Before the game the guy behind me was complaining that Torres was in the game. After two great catches and a homer, he was a big Torres supporter. Funny how fickle people can be. SAN FRANCISCO -- For somebody who's allegedly destined to be a relief pitcher, Tim Lincecum certainly resembled a fairly decent starter Tuesday night. Lincecum yielded a first-inning homer before retiring 18 of the next 20 hitters he confronted in seven assertive innings as the Giants outlasted the Toronto Blue Jays, 2-1. Andres Torres clobbered a two-run homer off Blue Jays starter Josh Johnson in the second inning to give Lincecum a slender yet enduring lead. Lincecum allowed three hits while permitting just one runner to reach scoring position after the first inning. Click on photo to see Erik's 1st game highlights. Although this is not a Giants story, I wanted to share anyway. Erik is a local Bay Area boy. For the last several off-seasons, he has worked at my work place. He is a smart, humble and dedicated young man. I am glad he is living his dream. (He is 26 not 35 as the announcer states in the video) Davis, called up Saturday from Triple-A Syracuse, had a successful Major League debut, throwing 1 2/3 perfect innings of relief, recording two strikeouts in relief of Duke. |
AuthorMy son and I enjoyed our first year as season ticket holders in 2012. Just in time to be part of the excitement of watching the Giants win their second World Series in three years. Archives
